About Vanillette Ceramics

Hello, I'm Anaïs — the maker behind Vanillette Ceramics.

I'm French, living in Haarlem, and my relationship with ceramics began simply: I wanted to work with my hands. From the moment I touched clay it was love at first sight. What started as a way to make something real — something I could hold — became a deep passion and eventually a studio practice I couldn't imagine my life without.

I grew up around tables that were set with care. My mother and grandmother both had this quiet instinct — the right cloth, the right bowl, beauty as a matter of course rather than occasion. I absorbed it without knowing. Now I make objects that I hope carry that same instinct into other people's homes.

Each piece is shaped, glazed, and marked with a small heart — my maker's signature, the same on every piece since the beginning. I work in small batches, with natural materials, designed to be used and to last. No two pieces are exactly alike, which is exactly as it should be.

When I'm not in the studio you'll find me at a Haarlem market, at a long Sunday table, or somewhere being closely supervised by Ravioli — my cat and most loyal creative companion.

Thank you for being here. I hope my ceramics bring as much joy to your table as they bring to mine.
